The Team at Newry Sure Start is a dedicated and enthusiastic multi-disciplinary team of over 30 staff including: a Project Manager, Outreach Workers, Health Visitor, Midwife, Speech and Language Therapist, Social Worker, Parenting Support Worker, Play Development Workers, Childcare staff, and Administrators.

Anne Rice has been the Manager of Newry SureStart since February 2004 and has responsibility for service development, budget management, and performance of all staff.

Ante Natal, Post Natal and Parenting Programmes
The Family Support Team are often a family’s first point of contact when they decide to register with us as they take new families through the registration process. They also provide family support and advice on a 1:1 basis and in groups, facilitate programmes including Incredible Babies, Incredible Toddlers, the Nurturing programme as well as co-facilitating our antenatal workshops and programmes.

Early Learning and Play Development
The Play Development Team provide fun and educational opportunities to enhance child development through the medium of play. Children and their parents attend these services together providing opportunities for focused play and to meet other families.

Early Years Team
The Early Years Team provide early childcare and development experiences though our Developmental Programme for 2-3 Year Olds (full academic year) and our Creche (sessional childcare to allow parents to access SureStart parent only services).

Health Team
Our Health Team consists of a range of specialist who will support your family’s health and wellbeing through home visits, 1:1 support, workshops, groups, and programmes. Each, with their own specialism, will support families to develop strategies to enhance their health and wellbeing.
