Families living in the Newry City area (one of the 7 designated wards (ie) St Mary’s, St Patrick’s, Ballybot, Daisy Hill, Drumalane, Drumgullion or Windsor Hill) can contact our team by completing a Membership Query Form. Registration takes place by completing a confidential registration form typically with a member of staff or here at the offices.

**Newry SureStart is currently piloting services for the Clonallon 1 ward in Warrenpoint.  If you are pregnant or have kids 0-4yrs old, feel free to Contact Us to see if you can register for our free services.

It is FREE to register with Sure Start projects. All services are FREE and VOLUNTARY. So use what you want, when you want!

Our registration process typically looks like this:

  1. A parent/carer contacts the project (via phone, email, contact form, or social media) and provides their full address.
  2. Our admin team reviews the address to see if it falls in our jurisdiction. If it does then the information gets forwarded to our Outreach Team. If it does not then we notify the family.
  3. The Outreach Team contacts the family (normally between 10-14 working days) to schedule a time to complete their registration forms and review all that is currently available with Newry SureStart.
  4. The Family is welcome to use any services or attend any programmes how and when they want.

Your information is stored in your family file on site and our SureStart Go database. This information is kept secure and handled in strictest confidence.

See our Privacy Policy for more details.

Unfortunately, if you do not live within the geographical boundaries set by the Department of Education for our project then you cannot register with Newry SureStart.

However, you are welcome to view the full list of SureStarts in Northern Ireland on the Family Support NI website and see if any other projects are in your local area.

Only those who are already parents to children under 4 or are expecting a baby can register with the project.

Unfortunately, we do not provide transport for our services.

We are located at 2 Warrenpoint Road, Newry, BT34 2PF. We are a quick 15 minute walk from the main Newry Bus Centre. There is also a bus stop right in front of the cemetary where busses 39 and 39F stop regularly. Visit Translink for more information or the bus time tables.

We understand that sometimes it is difficult to find childcare when you would like to attend a parenting programme. That is why we offer limited creche for certain programmes to allow parents to access SureStart parent only services. Feel free to ask if your programme offers creche support.

Newry SureStart provides programmes for families with children aged 0-4. Unfortunately we are unable to offer places for children older than 4 so older siblings are unable to attend.

We have lots of different types of programmes from baby massage, cookery, wriggle and rhyme, crafts and much more. There are programmes you and your child can do together or programmes you can enjoy as a parent while your little one has fun in creche. There’s something for everyone!

See our DaisyMail Newsletter for more information on what programmes and services are available.

We offer a combination of Drop-In programmes (where no booking is required), and programmes that require you to book in. Every month we send out a newsletter with lots of info on the programmes we have on and any special events coming up. This newsletter will have the timetable of programmes and contact details if booking in is necessary.

See our DaisyMail Newsletter for more information on what programmes and services are available.
